Live Music Session #25 – Phil Cooper + Sarah C Ryan

It’s Thursday 19th April and the sun is shining (not that that has any bearing on this) which means it is Live Music time again here at The Tuppenny. This week we are delighted to be able to present the folk-pop-tastic Phil Cooper and our very own team member Sarah C Ryan!

It’s Thursday 19th April and the sun is shining (not that that has any bearing on this) which means it is Live Music time again here at The Tuppenny. This week we are delighted to be able to present the folk-pop-tastic Phil Cooper and our very own team member Sarah C Ryan!

Phil is a contemporary singer/songwriter who has earned excellent reviews from the national press, with his thought provoking songwriting and energetic, often unpredictable live performances drawing comparisons to Neil Finn, Glenn Tilbrook and Ben Folds.

Having been the frontman for The Haiku for 6 years, 2012 saw him go it alone, and play a host of solo shows, including highly successful support slots for Mark Morriss (The Bluetones) and Dave McPherson (InMe). During his live shows, he makes a real connection with the crowd, often starting and finishing the shows entirely unplugged and shunning the stage to stand right in among the captivated audience.

According to her very own write-up, “Like your favourite cocktail, Sarah C. Ryan is a singer-songwriter who blends the coolness of a fresh mojito with the wildness of a woo-woo… ” so there you go. All we know is she is a fab bar-tender and colleague who has a neat line in lovely folky pop tunes herself.

Usual details apply, but essentially, music kicks off at 8.30pm and is free to enter
