Taking his TNMC bow at the Tuppenny for gig 116 was Portsmouth based artist Fast Trains.
Combining inventive alt pop with a cryptic visual space known as ‘ourWorld’, Fast Trains is the boundary-pushing solo project of Portsmouth born songwriter Tom Wells.
Since its inception in 2019, Fast Trains has been championed by BBC Introducing, Amazing Radio and BBC 6 Music, and has received funding and support from the Featured Artists Coalition, AIM, The Ivors Academy and Help Musicians. Collaborations with visual artists have led to award-winning videos screened at film festivals all over the world.
Fiercely independent, all Fast Trains music has to date been kept off the usual streaming platforms, instead delivering to fans directly via the official website, YouTube channel and Bandcamp. This has resulted in a passionate live following, where Wells shifts the gig experience from intimate solo performances to energetic full band shows (we get the solo version!)
Support from local troubadour N/SH, a solo, multi-instrumentalist musician. Alternative, Indie Rock and Ambient music genres all feature in his work
