Sounds Like Women are a local charitable organisation that use music to raise awareness about women’s issues of domestic abuse, racial biases and inequality and to empower other women, find solutions and make people stop and care, giving a voice to those who don’t have an opportunity to speak.
The Tuppenny are honoured to be able to partner with SLW to bring to you “Sounds Like Women Sunday”, a quarterly event to support the work they do with women of all ages and to question why female musicians, songwriters or music producers have always been under-represented and suffered prejudice and a lack of support.
Every three months SLW will present three different female acts in a celebration of the power of music and diversity and to support women & girls.
As founder Luiza Staniec-Moir has stated; “I think that music is the reason why a lot of us are still here, isn’t it?”
This inaugural line up features the talents of: Harmony Asia, Barbara Bartz and Luiza Staniec herself.
