Wine List

We have a great selection of wines available from all over the world. Our classic selection is fantastic, but we are most proud of being the first stockists in the area of a range of biodynamic, natural wines. These can change regualry at the moment reflecting global availability but recent cellar listings are outlined below.

Natural Wines

These wines are produced using grapes that are grown using strictly organic and/or biodynamic farming practices. The fruit is hand picked, hand sorted and fermented only using only the indigenous yeasts that exist in nature. Natural wines are typically bottled without filtering or fining and with minimal added sulphur.

Ancre Hill Vineyard – Orange Wine A wine that will be unlike almost any that you have tried before – and you will be glad you tried it. Deep, savoury, with nectarine & tangerine and lifted herbal notes. The grapes underwent 100% whole bunch maceration for between 30 to 50 days. Fermentation was finished in oak and stainless steel for ageing on gross lees for a minimum of 10 months, with natural MLF, no filtration or fining.

Ancre Hill Vineyard – Pet Nat NV – Nicely crazy lightly sparkling red, with a sour cherry and red fruit jam nose, that plays out on the palate too, with a slightly herbal back-note. A real sweet & sour character to it, with great freshness.

Chateau Tire Pe – DieM – Made from 100% Merlot grapes, this youthful natural wine from Bordeaux is ruby in the glass with shimmering purple highlights. A bright nose of fresh red fruit is backed by a dusting of cedar infused minerality. Buoyant and fruity on the palate the Tire Pé Diem is packed with juicy red currant, crushed plum and sweet herbs. This is a pretty red with an easy fruity profile and a lingering finish.

Domaine Ollieux-Romanis – Lo Petit Fantet D’hippolyte Rouge – A blend of mainly Carignan with a splash each of Grenache Noir and Syrah and is fermented with natural yeasts and no added sulphur.  A dark ruby-purple in the glass. On the nose, notes of thyme, rosemary and black cherry with a hint of woody spice. On the palate, a touch of sweetness with bags of black fruits. Medium acidity with balanced tannins and a touch of minerality. The finish is smooth and lingering.

Finca Casa Balaguer – Tragolargo Blanco – Golden in colour with aromas of orange blossom and fennel with some delicate floral notes. This medium body wine is made with Moscatel and Malvasia grapes and has a delicious acidity and freshness, as well as the array of aromas and flavours of white and citrus fruits, rich honey and mineral tones with a long and elegant finish.

Finca Parera Clar, Spain A light, aromatic and fresh white wine. This vintage shows all its aromatic potential, with ripe white fruit and marked floral notes. In the mouth, it unfolds with lightness and honesty, with a fresh and pleasant finish.

Il Farnetto, Frisant Rosso, Italy – Ruby red in colour with delicate aromas of cherry, carnation, a trace of licorice and Rose Royce funk. Cherry, morello cherry and flinty minerality are buoyed by tight fizz, fresh acidity and green tea tannins. Tangy fruit compliments the savoury finish. Crisp, refreshing and friendly

Isle Saint Pierre, Depuis Rose, France – Light pink and flesh-coloured. Novel and attractive nose, very floral and fruity. Fresh and fruity in-mouth texture lingering on mineral notes.

Les Sablonettes, Menard le Rouge, France – Menard is a hard-core natural wine with indigenous yeast, no fining or filtration and minimal sulfur at bottling. A light bodied, delicious red that’s low in tannin with a bit of funk and a very slight, lively fizz. With notes of heirloom tomatoes, herbaceousness and a peppery finish

Metic – Merlot 2019 – A biodynamic bargain! Blueberry, fresh cherries and blackcurrant with a hint of smoke are apparent on the nose – soft, rounded palate & deeper red & black fruit flavours, cinnamon spice and a dash of pepper. Who says natural wines need to cost a fortune?

Tour des Gendres – VDF Sauvignon Chenin Pet Nat, 2019 – Bergerac wines often get overlooked next to it’s big brother Bordeaux nearby, but the little sibling don’t play no games. This sparkling organic Pet Nat of Sauvignon & Chenin is fresh & fruity, with a hint of sweetness. Playful & fun, but with a serious edge.

Valli Unite – Ottavio Rube Bianco 2019 – Originating from the Piedmont region of Italy, this natural wine is made from Cortese & Timorasso grapes and fermented with native yeasts. Unfiltered & unfined with no additional sulphites it is a little funky on the nose, crisp, fresh and textured on the palate as tart lemons and green, underripe plum combine to create some proper mouthwatering acidity. Rustic, unpolished and fun; all round an excellent entry level natural white wine.

Classic Wines

As well as our fantastic natural wine list we have a wonderful selection of classic wines made from well known and popular grape varieties in red, white or rose, plus some classic prosecco.

Red

MERLOT – Luis Felipe Edwards Lot 18, Rapel Valley, Chile – Bright ruby-red, this unoaked Merlot shows black and red cherry, spicy plum and blackcurrant all wrapped up in the velvety textured palate.

SHIRAZ – Short Mile Bay, South Eastern Australia  Deep-coloured and full-bodied with lots of rich berry fruit on the palate and a pinch of pepper spice so typical of Shiraz

ZINFANDEL – Drifting Old Vine Lodi, California, USA – by the bottle. This Zinfandel is aged for 3 months in French Oak, developing flavours of sweet cherry, blueberry, and light plum aromas. Completed with a black pepper spice and a slight tobacco edge on a full, silky finish.

MALBEC – Los Intocables Black Malbec, San Juan, Chile – by the bottle. Using a modern take on ageing, this Malbec has been aged in North American bourbon barrel for 12 months. The grapes come from a careful selection of plots, with very low yield of bunches per plant. Distinctive aromas of red berries marked by notes of caramel and vanilla. On the palate, soft tannins give creaminess, volume and meatiness.
